Hi, I'm Steph!
I work full time as a Marketing Designer at a marketing communications company, but that does not diminish my eagerness to freelance and expand my skills even further.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in Graphic Design with two minors, Communication Studies and Women & Gender Studies, from Bridgewater State University. I am motivated by work that empowers minorities and appreciates contemporary art.
I have designed brochures, pamphlets, and branding standards throughout different jobs and volunteer positions. In Washington D.C., I gained hands-on experience interning at STEMconnector, a company that focuses on strengthening the science technology engineering and mathematics pipeline through their various initiatives such as Million Women Mentors. Million Women Mentors, the initiative I worked closest with, focused on women and minorities, or lack thereof, in STEM. STEMconnector brought out my passion for creating work that benefits the average audience.
Currently, I am strengthening my brand by revisiting old projects and finding my voice as a designer.
I believe that making artwork is an important part of culture. Artwork shapes the social makeup of societies. The most commonplace media outlets, such as magazines and online social networks, have become an outlet for voices to be heard in this fast pace society. Movements are made overnight in the digital world today, and artists have a chance to be a part of and become an influence in that movement.
